What is ABA Therapy?
Individualized Programs
-
Every therapy plan is customized based on the child’s strengths, needs, and goals.
-
We use assessments and parent input to design a program just for them.
One-on-One Sessions
-
Sessions are one-on-one with a trained therapist (RBT or BCBA supervision).
-
We work at the child’s pace and adjust as they grow.
Learning Through Play and Natural Activities
-
Therapy often looks like play! We embed learning into games, toys, art, conversation, and real-world situations.
-
Children practice skills in a way that feels natural and fun.
Skill Building
-
We focus on skills like communication (talking, signing, using devices), social skills, self-help (dressing, eating), and academics (matching, counting).
-
We also teach life skills like following directions, asking for help, and making choices.
Positive Reinforcement
-
We encourage and reward positive behaviors to build confidence and motivation.
-
Success is celebrated to make learning exciting!
Behavior Support
-
If a child has challenging behaviors, we work to understand why they happen.
-
We teach better ways to communicate needs, express emotions, and navigate frustration.
Parent Involvement
-
Families are part of the team! We coach and support parents so skills carry over into everyday life.
-
We offer regular updates, training, and tips for home routines.
Data-Driven Decisions
-
Therapists collect data during sessions to track progress carefully.
-
Plans are updated often based on real results to keep therapy moving forward.
Generalization and Real-World Practice
-
Skills are practiced not just in sessions but also at home, in the community, and in school settings when appropriate.
-
We want skills to stick and be useful everywhere!
Supervision by a BCBA
-
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) oversees the program, supervises therapists, reviews data, and meets with families regularly.
